Had a date last night from CMB and wanted to know if anything could be done to overcome these issues: Indoors of bars are closed in my state, so I can't sit next to the girl for better positioning. Do I have to just make the most out of sitting across from her? Early on she said "don't get handsy", is it better to respect her words, or is that a sh*t test I failed? Two hours in, at 10pm, I asked "when is your bedtime?" She said "now" and that she had to get up at 5am, should I still go for the pull at that point? I feel like it would be rude and uncalibrated to just ignore that concern and say "oh you have to get up super early? let's go to my rooftop!" At the end of it all, I couldn't even go for the kiss when we parted ways because we both had our masks on, any way around this? With a relationship-oriented app like CMB, do I need to stress about closing on the first date? I feel like I would run dates better if I just didn't worry about it, but I'm also afraid some other guy is gonna come along and get the first date close. Also Alex, you have a video about first dates, but I really need more advice on conversation topics and specifics of what to talk about during the date that leads it toward pulling.

I know preplanned topics would come off as scripted. But what are some of the default questions you like to ask? What do you do when there's that awkward pause and draw a blank?

An awkward pause is actually okay most of the time. Really the only time I actively avoid pauses is during the pulling. Apart from that, it's okay here and there. It puts the burden of making conversation on the girl. Which is good in moderation. One piece of advice I can give you is rely heavily on the "we-frame". Rather than talk about yourself/her (Which is also okay in moderation), talk about the two of you as a unit. Talk about the stuff that's going on around you, funny hypotheticals, roleplays, etc
