you're too quick to apologize, stop caring about the outcome so much. She is also right in that you didn't small chunk compliance with the date enough, you brought up the idea once, and even that, she didn't comply with or agree that it was adventurous. So the small chunk compliance goes like this:

Them: That's perfect
