Could someone give me some feedback on cameras for pictures? I am just looking for something that will take good pictures of myself. I don't need something that is ridiculous though. I know very little about cameras, so can you explain why a camera is good or bad as well, so I can learn some. I am looking to spend 100-150 at most.

Canon is what we use. So, go with that
If you can pick up a used DSLR you'll get much better quality images. The lens is wide enough to get the blurry background like the iPhone portrait mode. Point and shoots are good but the lens isn't big enough to get that nice blurry background that makes a good portrait.
Look at the camera which has good pixels and sensors .pixels are important to good quality images
