Also instead of going straight for Thursday, you'd have been better off giving her a couple of options to pick from or ask her when she's free before picking a day

A general rule is when a girl (who you haven't fucked yet) gives an objection for a specific day, just pick another day. When you try and convince them to hang out on a day they've said no to, it comes off as desperate and the chick feels unheard. Also, always important to have shit going on when a girl asks what you're up to on a day, even if you're free for a date, "I'm working out, then cooking. I'm free after 7 though..." for example

I would actually try to walk it back honestly "haha, i meant 'on a day that you're off'". If it's been a long time since you texted your last message it might be too obvious though.
Yeah man. This is poor logistics planning. I would have said "Unfortunately, I'm out of town. What nights are you free to hangout next?" It seems like she's only free to hangout on the nights she has off. So, you've gotta figure out when those next nights will be
